Public Authority for Housing Welfare Receives Initial Handover of Roads and Infrastructure at Sharq Sabah Al Ahmad
The Public Authority for Housing Welfare has taken initial handover of the roads, infrastructure, and public buildings for the “Sharq Sabah Al Ahmad” residential project, comprising 587 villas across a total area of 582,000 square meters. The project was executed by First Group in accordance with the latest engineering designs and high technical specifications.
New Materials Used for the First Time
The project stands out for its use of modern construction materials introduced for the first time, alongside a construction and finishing approach that reflects the latest architectural sustainability practices ensuring high quality residential units for citizens.
Energy Saving Central Air Conditioning
The project was executed across six fully finished house design models, marking the first time a central, energy efficient air conditioning system has been incorporated into a project of this kind. This enhancement improves overall energy efficiency across the residential units and reflects the Authority’s shift toward more sustainable solutions in future housing developments.
Committed Timeline Despite Challenges
The project’s general manager noted that the contracting companies involved faced pandemic related challenges during execution, particularly around supply chains, but the company was able to overcome these obstacles. Construction officially began in November 2021 and was completed within the originally scheduled timeframe, with no extension required.
