Public Authority for Housing Welfare and First Group Sign Contract to Build 1,162 Affordable Housing Units

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare has signed a contract with First Group to execute a project comprising 1,162 housing units as part of the Affordable Housing Program, with a total contract value of KD 112,097,000 and a three-year execution timeline — marking a continuation of the successful partnership between the two entities.

Engineer Rashed Al-Anzi, the Authority's General Manager, oversaw the signing on the sidelines of the main contract signing ceremony, confirming that the Public Authority for Housing Welfare had signed the execution contract for the 1,162-unit affordable housing project with First Group. He praised the company's pivotal role in successfully completing previous housing projects on schedule and to the required quality standards.

Part of a Broader Plan to Deliver 6,455 Housing Units

Al-Anzi explained that the contract falls under the Authority's comprehensive plan to build 6,455 residential units across four implementation phases, with this contract representing the project's first phase. The initiative is being carried out in coordination with seven service authorities responsible for public infrastructure, including electrical power networks, low- and medium-voltage cable installation, as well as road construction and supply works

Project Details :

The project is located in the South Sabah Al-Ahmad area and includes two housing models:

- Model A: 603 residential units

- Model B: 559 residential units

Totaling 1,162 residential units. The project also includes 11 public service buildings, comprising schools, a mosque, a social development and community center, a police station, a central market, a fuel station, and associated site infrastructure works.

Commitment to Quality Within the Set Timeline

Al-Anzi affirmed that executing the contract within the agreed timeframe and to a high standard of quality is being achieved through full cooperation with all relevant official authorities involved in the project. He noted that the Authority continually prioritizes effective coordination in the fields of development, infrastructure, and urban planning, consistently applying a localized coordination approach across its projects.

Engineer Amil Abdullah, General Manager of First Group, expressed pride in the company's continued cooperation with the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, describing the signing of this contract as an extension of the success First Group has achieved on previous housing projects with the Authority. He reaffirmed the company's full commitment to delivering the project to the highest quality standards and within the specified timeframe.
